Professional Conduct

PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT

In general, all school staff members will be expected to conduct themselves, in the school and away from it, in a manner that accords with normally-accepted standards of behavior for the teaching profession, bearing in mind always the ever-greater expectations implicit in the Christian purpose and character of the school.

 1.        Loyalty to the school

 a)        It is expected that school staff members will uphold the school and staff and avoid commenting negatively about internal matters to students, parents, other staff members, or others outside the school. Complaints should be taken up with the administration, where clarification can be made, or corrective action initiated.

 2.        Relationships with others

 a)        Students: Staff members should always relate to students in such a manner as to maintain mutual respect. While opportunities for counseling and for friendly relations are encouraged, partiality and familiarity must be avoided.

 b)        Parents: School staff members will make every effort to promote good communications between parents and the school. Altercations must be avoided. Staff members should refer to the administration problems which they cannot resolve themselves.

 c)        Administration: The principal is available to counsel and support in prayer any other staff member.

Procedures for Reporting Misconduct by Instructional Personnel and Administrators

All employees and administrators have an obligation to report misconduct by instructional personnel and school administrators which affects the health, safety, or welfare of a student. Examples of misconduct include obscene language, drug and alcohol use, disparaging comments, prejudice or bigotry, sexual innuendo, cheating or testing violations, physical aggression, and accepting or offering favors.  Reports of misconduct of employees should be made to Shellie Creasy, Head of Discipline.

Reports of misconduct committed by administrators should be made to Bro. Eddie Preston, Sr., Pastor / Principal.

Legally sufficient allegations of misconduct by Florida certified educators will be reported to the Office of Professional Practices Services.
